Non-Western World Literature
Description
Examines a broad survey of non-Western literature, including work from Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. This course approaches the literature from a variety of cultural perspectives such as dissent and conformity, urbanity and rural life, religion and secular identity, and sex and gender. Students will gain an understanding of non-Western authors and the cultures they represent, as well as investigate the ways literature contributes to global conversations about identity and creativity.
